NIKSUN Announces Alpine 4.5 Release

Published on: 08-18-2014

Princeton, NJ, August 18th, 2014 - NIKSUN® Inc., the world leader in cyber security and network monitoring solutions, today unveiled Alpine 4.5 Release, making NIKSUN the first in the industry to provide real-time analytics for data rates exceeding 100Gbps. No longer is it necessary to move captured data off to other devices for analytical purposes. NIKSUN Alpine 4.5 performs capture and analysis on the same appliance giving end users the benefit of instant analytics saving valuable analysis time while reducing rack space and energy costs to a quarter over current generation solutions. At the same time, the NIKSUN Alpine 4.5 virtual solution provides scalable transaction analysis in machine to machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) environments. This is a true revolution for security and performance monitoring using a holistic solution for Cloud environments as well as IoT.

Featuring several innovative improvements to NIKSUN's award winning Alpine technology, this new release completely re-defines the future of network performance and security for the hyper Internet catering to the "Always Online" generation. NIKSUN Alpine 4.5 pushes the bar well above 100Gbps capture, processing, and analytics of complex network data in real-time while scaling throughput 5 to 10 times higher than its predecessor. The NIKSUN Knowledge Warehouse (NKW) performs automated rules-based Big Data analytics, requiring minimal intervention by the user to discover backdoors, hidden malware, application performance, and service bottlenecks in their complex network environment.

The NIKSUN Alpine 4.5 release is also ready for virtual environments and has been specifically optimized to deal with short but many machine to machine transactions. The distributed NIKSUN virtual agent technology is designed to aggregate and correlate data within and across domains providing the end user a complete end-to-end view of their infrastructure and services; all in real-time.
"100Gbps networks are no longer futuristic, but are a reality today. It is insufficient to merely capture data at high speed rates; you need solutions that can quickly and effectively analyze and process this data for security or performance intelligence at the same accelerated pace of capture as exists in core networks," said Dr. Parag Pruthi, NIKSUN Founder, Chairman, and CEO. "At the same time, M2M communications are rapidly on the rise. These transactions however can be very low speed, short but continuous. We had to adapt our technology to run in virtual environments while preserving the ability to remotely extract, aggregate, correlate and analyze information from these transactions in an optimal manner. Finally, after over 18 months of dedicated work by team NIKSUN, we have the industry's first solution that can truly capture, process, and analyze data from IoT through core networks and scale for cloud computing environments."
