The Supporting Friend of IEEE Member and Geographic Activities Award was established to recognize those individuals, organizations, or divisions of organizations, who encourage and support IEEE activities and/or volunteerism through their practices.

The World Wide Security and Mobility Conference (WWSMC) debuted in July, 2011. The next conference is right on its heels, scheduled to be held January 23-26, 2012 in Princeton, NJ. At the July WWSMC, global industry leaders, security and mobility experts, government officials, and academia discussed new approaches to address today’s cybersecurity threats. In a packed room, participants listened to prestigious speakers such as former Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff, Prof. Henning Schulzrinne of Columbia University – the “father of Internet telephony,” and NIKSUN’s Dr. Parag Pruthi, to name just a few.
