Central Maine Healthcare has agreed to a $1.3 million class action settlement tied to a data breach that affected more than 218,000 people. The incident occurred between March and June of last year, when a third party may have accessed personal information held by the healthcare system. Under the settlement, affected individuals may be eligible to receive up to $5,000 for certain losses and one year of free medical records monitoring, with claims due by September 28 and a final approval hearing scheduled for late October in Androscoggin County Superior Court.
