Cyber-attack Takes Cleveland Municipal Court, OH Offline
The Cleveland Municipal Court in Ohio is struggling to respond to a cyber-attack. The court’s systems and services were taken offline as a precaution while they investigate the nature and scope of the threat. All internal systems and software, including the court’s website, have been shut down and will remain offline as authorities work to figure out what happened and the best time to restore operations. This has created considerable inconvenience to citizens who have pending business with the court, such as paying citations and bonds.
The Ohio National Guard and Ohio Cyber Reserve are looking into the matter. It is the second cyber-related shutdown in Cleveland in less than a year, as over the summer of 2024 a ransomware attack closed the Cleveland City Hall for more than a week. Read more about this story on our LinkedIn page
