Data Breach on Cloud Platform Used by Alabama Schools
The Alabama State Department of Education was informed by PowerSchool, a cloud-based software platform used by public K-12 schools in Alabama for student information, that their platform was subject a cyberattack. PowerSchool said the breach was traced to a compromised credential.
The data breach involved unauthorized access to certain information through its community support portal which included information related to families and educators, such as names and addresses, Student grades and medical information may have been amongst the compromised credentials.
PowerSchool is trying to control the situation by exercising cybersecurity response protocols, including involving law enforcement and third-party experts. Read more about this story on our LinkedIn page
