TN Tri-Cities' Businesses Reel Under Spectrum Outage
The Tri-Cities in Tennessee is the region comprising the cities of Kingsport, Johnson City, and Bristol and the surrounding smaller towns and communities in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. The region went without internet for more than 24 hours from midday Monday until Tuesday evening due to an outage at Spectrum. The outage impacted many businesses as most had no internet and no phone making them unable to process credit cards. With their phones down, getting customer calls was impacted too.
County government phones were down, and officials took cash only for tag renewals. The library was unable to issue new cards as a result of the Spectrum outage. Read more about this story on our LinkedIn page
