Article on Musician Leads to Cyberattack on Music Website
Saving Country Music is a music industry website that discusses critical issues affecting the country music community. It is a popular website which consistently receives on average 1.5 million unique visitors a month.
At 8:00 am Friday, 5/24 morning, Saving Country Music suffered a coordinated and targeted cyberattack that made the website inaccessible for over six hours. The management attributed the attack to an article that was published 48 hours ago about the country music singer Morgan Wallen as the home page of the website, login pages, were not attacked but only the page with the article.
Even after blocking a total of 24,062 separate malicious IP addresses, the cyberattack continued. Eventually, the attack was brought under control by blocking access to the Morgan Wallen article being targeted. Read more about this story on our LinkedIn page
