Printing solutions giant Xerox confirmed that its US-based subsidiary Xerox Business Solutions experienced a data breach. Xerox says personal information was stolen in the cyberattack. The company claims that the incident was limited to Xerox Business Solutions US and was contained by its cybersecurity team.
The ransomware gang known as Inc Ransom claimed responsibility for the attack and posted screenshots of documents allegedly stolen from the company, as proof of intrusion on its Tor-based leak site. As the entry was taken down later, it is speculated that Xerox might have engaged in communication with the attackers, to prevent the stolen data from being published online.
