System Requirements Listed by Feature


Distributed Requirements


You must have at least two copies of PhoneSweep Gold, each with its own dongle. To set up PhoneSweep in two or more countries, please purchase equipment that is geared for each country. Please see the recommended modems for further modem details and multiport solutions for help with multi-port serial I/O card selection.

Minimum requirements (Distributed Basic - 1 Modem, Small Profiles):

  • CPU: 200 MHz
  • RAM: 32 MB
  • Disk Space: 50 MB
  • Network Connection: Connected to a network, either internal or external, that allows access to and/or by remote copies of PhoneSweep Gold.
Optimal requirements (Distributed Plus 4, 8, 12, 16):

  • CPU:
    • 333 MHz minimum for Plus 4 or 8;
    • 600-750 MHz minimum for Plus 12 or 16
  • RAM:
    • 64 – 128 MB minimum for Plus 4 or 8;
    • 256 MB minimum for Plus 12 or 16
  • Disk Space: 100 MB
  • Network Connection: Connected to a network, either internal or external, that allows access to and/or by remote copies of PhoneSweep Gold.

E-mail Notification Requirements


Minimum requirements:

  • Same as Distributed minimum requirements
  • Additional: SMTP Server: You need to know the address of your outgoing e-mail server for each site that uses PhoneSweep Gold.
Optimal requirements (Distributed Plus 4, 8, 12, 16):

  • Same as Distributed Optimal requirements (Distributed Plus 4, 8, 12 +16)
  • Additional: SMTP Server: You need to know the address of your outgoing e-mail server for each site that uses PhoneSweep Gold.

Merged Reporting


Minimum requirements:

  • Assuming several small reports (800 unique phone numbers each)
  • CPU: 333 MHz minimum
    • If the total number of unique phone numbers is 10,000 or more, the CPU speed should be higher.
  • RAM: 128 MB
  • Disk Space: 100 MB
  • Network Connection: None required
Optimal requirements:

  • Assuming large reports (10,000-20,000 unique phone numbers each)
  • CPU: 600-750 MHz
    • Higher if you intend to use profiles containing more than 20,000 phone numbers.
  • RAM: 256 MB
  • Disk Space: 250 MB
  • Network Connection: None required

Security


We recommend that your machine not be connected to any network, unless you are actively using the Distributed feature or the E-mail Notification feature of PhoneSweep Gold. If your machine is connected to a network, please restrict inbound access to it as much as possible. For Distributed connections, inbound and outbound access should be limited to only those machines that are part of your PhoneSweep Gold distributed network.

Operating System

PhoneSweep Gold runs under Windows 95 / 98 / NT4 / 2000 Pro SP2 / 2000 Server SP1 / XP / 2003 Server. We do not recommend or support using PhoneSweep Gold on Windows ME.

If you have a choice of platforms, we recommend that you install PhoneSweep Gold on a computer using Windows 2000.
