Close the Loop On Telephone Security With Sandtrap® 1.6
Sandstorm® renews its commitment to quality telephone security tools with this latest Sandtrap release.
MALDEN, MA May 16, 2006 Sandstorm Enterprises, Inc. has released Sandtrap® 1.6, the latest version of its multi-modem telephone honeypot. Enhancements to Sandtrap include:
- Additional alert logging capability - receive alerts to breakin attempts via syslog
- Pre-configured operating system login emulations to tempt would-be attackers
- Configurable number of rings to wait before Sandtrap "answers" the call
Sandtrap allows you to simulate up to 16 vulnerable modems, and set up your preferred responses to dial-in attempts on each: answer, prompt for password, and send a message of "success" or "failure," all the while logging the caller's information and login attempts.
Security audits of your phone system are a recommended best practice, but audits only discover potential vulnerabilities. Sandtrap alerts you to actual attacks. With pricing starting at under $400, Sandtrap is a cost-effective addition to your security toolkit.
Sandtrap's system requirements, hardware and modem recommendations, and other technical information are available on the company Web site.
