With PhoneSweep 5.5, Security Audit and Assurance Testing Just Got Easier
MALDEN, MA April 2 2008 Sandstorm Enterprises, Inc has released PhoneSweep
5.5, the latest version of its commercial multi-line modem scanner
(wardialer). Enhancements to PhoneSweep include:
- Continuous Scan dials a bank of fax machines, servers or ACD lines at
intervals of your choice, with real-time reporting of status changes
- Improved facsimile handling, including detection, identification
(including calling station ID) and reporting
- Usability improvements, including better handling of per-number notes,
and for Gold customers, customizable alert message text
- Reporting improvements, including timeout redial information, numbers
identified as No Facsimile and optional automatic generation and emailing of reports
- IPv6 addresses can be used for email notification and, for Gold customers,
remote operations.
- Expanded Operating System support: PhoneSweep now runs on Microsoft's
Windows VISTA
PhoneSweep's precision in discovering vulnerable modems (subject to
exploits or attacks) is now relied on in over 80 countries; it's the
number one product of its kind worldwide. Not surprisingly, the use of a
telephone line scanning tool like PhoneSweep is a security audit "best
practice." PhoneSweep can dynamically control many modems at once,
slashing scanning times. Its patented Single Call Detect feature, which
identifies types of devices uncovered - modems, faxes, second dial tone - in
a minimum of attempts, minimizes disruption of the analog networks it
audits.
PhoneSweep 5.5 also introduces the Continuous Scan feature, which
broadens the scope of
PhoneSweep's capabilities into the Telephone Line Assurance Testing
area. Continuous Scanning enables you to perform regular - as often as
every 5 minutes - assurance testing to ensure that all lines in your
24x7 call center are actually available 24x7, or that all incoming modem
lines to a modem bank are still functional. PhoneSweep then sends real
time notification via email or via posting to an internal website if an
unexpected anomaly is encountered.
Prices for PhoneSweep start at under $1200. PhoneSweep’s system
requirements, hardware and modem recommendations, and other technical
information are detailed on the company Web site.
