Sandstorm Enterprises Awarded U.S. Patent On NetIntercept Technology
MALDEN, MA, July 10, 2007Sandstorm Enterprises today
announced that it has been awarded U.S. Patent 7,242,681. This patent
was awarded for the heuristic content reassembly and recognition technology
used in its NetIntercept® network forensics and analysis device. NetIntercept,
first released in October of 2001, has attracted interest from both government
and corporate clients.
"I am very excited that we were awarded this patent, which helps to protect
our invention and recognizes our innovation in intercepting and reconstructing
network traffic," said James Van Bokkelen, president of Sandstorm Enterprises
and the patent's co-author. "NetIntercept represented a completely new way of
capturing, storing and reconstructing network traffic session by session. Even
five years later, most network forensics tools still limit the user to working
with packet-by-packet data. NetIntercept's methods produce more comprehensive
results in less time."
